Links Of London Debuts Kate Middleton-Approved Jewelry In Time For The Holidays

Just in time for the holidays, Links of London has debuted its fall line, the brand new Ovals Collection (launched in October) as well as an upcoming winter release: the Hope Pearls extension (slated for the first week of December). The latter collection will sound familiar to Royal watchers and fans as it’s been supported and loved by the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine (Kate) Middleton, who has worn the White Topaz Hope Egg Earrings on numerous occasions – most famously in her engagement portrait with Prince William. But as a savvy fashion maven, she’s “recycled” such beloved jewelry box trinkets – most notably on her whirlwind tour through Canada; accompanying the Queen and Camilla to Fortnum & Mason; and with Prince Charles and Camilla to the Dulwich Picture Gallery. The Best Styles of Jewelry To Wear With Your Winter Wardrobe

When the big chill of winter hits and you are layered in cashmere, bundled in different styles of parkas and your accessories consist of hats, gloves and ear muffs and the type of scarves or shawls that wrap your neck and face, is there any possible way to wear your jewelry? We say yes. If there is a will there is a way. Over the past decade, jewelry has become more and more individualized than ever before and it’s hard to leave home without the pieces that speak to your personal style and make a statement about you. The fuzzy ear muffs just don’t say I’m an independent confident woman. Instead, they say, “I’d rather not get frostbite today.” Which is smart but not as stylish as stand out piece of jewelry. Here are five tips and jewels that will work with your winter garb: 1-Go Long Instead of Layered: While graduated chains and charms necklaces are great for the summer with T-shirt and tanks they can compete with your layers of sweaters and scarves. Therefore, it’s better to opt […]

This Holiday Season, Make It Silver and Gold

Yesterday evening marked the beginning of Hanukkah. The Jewish festival of lights commemorates the reclamation of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem from the Syrian-Greeks in the second century BCE. According to accounts, after Judah and his forces liberated the temple, he found only one jar of oil, good for a single day’s lighting at the most. Miraculously, though, the oil lasted for an incredible eight days, which is why Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days and nights to this day. To all of my Jewish friends around the world, I wish you a Hanukkah Sameach! Among many of the holiday’s well-known traditions, at least here in the U.S., is to give children chocolate coins. This arose from the centuries-old practice of parents giving real coins, or Hanukkah gelt, to their kids, who in turn were expected to give them to their teachers. I believe this is a beautiful custom. Whether you observe Hanukkah, Christmas, Eid al-Fitr, Diwali or any number of other religious holidays around the world, gifting your children and grandchildren coins of precious metals such as gold or […]

Fine Jewelry For Proud Moms

Fine jewelry is extremely personal. If you were to ask a woman about a necklace around her neck or that ring on her finger she will most likely tell you a story that marks a special moment in her life. Such is the magic and mystery of jewelry. It goes beyond the functionalities of adornment to become reminders or markers of milestones, promises and sometimes, even a goal we hope to one day attain. Because of the heavy sentimental value attached to jewelry, designing these exquisite pieces can be considered one of the most challenging. How do you conceive of a bracelet or cuff that many will connect with on a personal level? How does one determine the kind of gem stones and metals the best resonate with a market able and wiling to spend top dollar for their next purchase? When fine jewelry designer Tali Gillette developed her eponymous label, she anchored her brand on a universal language the many women strongly associate with: motherhood . She explains the genesis of a fine jewelry line crafted with a mother’s […]
